The ongoing conflicts have underscored the importance of cooperation between Türkiye and the European Union, according to Erdoğan.
The dialogue between the two leaders also addressed broader regional and global issues, as reported by the Turkish Communications Directorate. Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye’s efforts to maintain a cease-fire and promote peace in the area, stressing the urgency of reopening the Strait of Hormuz to ensure stability.
Erdoğan expressed concerns over Israel’s actions, accusing the nation of perpetuating conflicts in the region and violating international laws, including acts he described as piracy. He called for increased international pressure on Israel to address these issues.
Furthermore, Erdoğan advocated for Türkiye’s inclusion in European security strategy initiatives, believing such involvement would be mutually beneficial. He also pushed for updates to the Turkish-EU Customs Union and encouraged expanded cooperation in various sectors to bolster economic integration and pursue shared interests.
